Drawing on her clinical practice and pioneering efforts in workaholism Dr Killinger describes the personality traits and psychological, philosophical, historical, and familial influences that help develop and maintain integrity. She also looks at how integrity is undermined and lost as a result of obsession, narcissism, and workaholism. Richly illustrated with personal stories, Integrity offers a positive "how to" perspective on safeguarding personal and professional integrity and on encouraging our children to develop this vital character trait. Killinger concludes that integrity is not possible without compassion and makes it clear that doing the right thing includes doing it for the right reason.

My copy of this book is almost completed yellow highlighted and blue sticky tabbed. The body of work presents helpful perspective about the distinction between integrity (which is a choice from within) and morality (which is an external perspective agreed to). The clarity about how our 'feeling function' (from MBTI) plays - or doesn't - into who we are with others is very eye opening. Anyone making choices about life or working with groups of people will find insight on almost every page!

I was looking for a book about the idea of integrity in general, not particulary related to workalcoolims.

Mixed bag with some ideas giving me insight , other where i disagreed with the opinons and choices of the author.

Not THE book about integrity for me but it definitely help.

Fascinating look at integrity, not from a religious point of view, but from a psychological point of view.

This book is written for narcissists to give an excuse for why they behave the way they do. Problem is, narcissists don't ever see an issue with their behavior.

Beyond that, it's filled with under-explained psychology terms (you can't explain disassociation in one paragraph) with no tie back for how to deal if you are diagnosed with something.

I wasn't sure of the point, but it wasn't worth my time.
